As someone who has been in marketing business for 3 years I have noticed and watched a pattern that appears and repeats itself as predictably as the seasons. Yet it always seems to show up as a surprise to it’s victims and completely takes over their world.

Here’s the real catch though. You have to have faith, I mean real faith to move through this economic shift with grace and success. You also need awareness.

This is not a time when sitting and chanting or throwing coins into wells is going to do you any good. IT’s not that I don’t do those things, I do, but action and energy is also required. There is no less money than there was a year or two years ago. It’s just in different places and flowing in different pathways.
The key here is to adapt and evolve. Someone somewhere is making a fortune right now doing something. That’s always the case. We get into trouble when we are attached to what we do and don’t evolve our livelihood into something that’s profitable at the time. For as long as there has been life on the planet, evolution has been key to survival and now is no different. One would have thought that we would have learned this lesson from our distant cousin the T-Rex and yet our brains seem to be no quicker to adapt than his.

The main thing that I see is, the advertising and marketing budget is one of the first items to get cut. DUH! What are you thinking? If you cut off the oxygen supply to the body, it dies. The same happens with water to a flower etc. etc. etc. Yet one of the first things that entrepreneurs and small businesses do is to stop doing the thing that is providing the life blood to their business.
